KHANENKO MUSEUM
Khanenko Museum is a unique museum of Eastern and Western classical art created by Ukrainian patrons Varvara and Bohdan Khanenko in their own home 100 years ago.
Our mission was to craft branding that both encapsulates the essence of the museum and resonates with modern audiences. To achieve this, we conducted three strategic sessions with the museum team, delving deep into the museum's current identity. Additionally, we conducted extensive interviews within the museum and throughout the streets of Kyiv to understand both the museum's values for its visitors and the barriers hindering potential visitors.
From our research emerged the brand concept of "Stories." We found that the stories behind the artworks and the museum itself garnered the greatest interest. These stories imbue the paintings with meaning, bridging classical art with contemporary society, often evolving into shareable memes on social networks. The graphic principle of the bent corner was employed to evoke curiosity, suggesting there is more to discover behind the image.
We developed captivating slogans reminiscent of magazine article titles, hinting at the historical narratives of the artworks depicted on our posters.
The color scheme was suggested by the museum itself.
We took the colors that cover the walls of the museum halls and art works.
